"Roll Up" is a sculptural prototype light designed and produced utilising a mix of technology and craftsmanship for Salone Del Mobile 2013.
Hand made, there is very a strong yet simple visual interplay between graphics, textiles and lighting. The circular geometrical cuts made in a thick felt produce both a simple and effortless sculptural shape. The perversity of using a totally solid material as the basis for a lighting and shade design and the mixing of different levels of craftsmanship and technology continue the exploration of using unexpected materials and self production by Craftwork.
In 2013 Pollini celebrated it's 60th anniversary and Craftwork was invited to create a design on both an archive and a current shoe construction to celebrate this historic birthday. The ideas are adaptations of the cutting themes Mehrnoosh is exploring in lighting design and have been reinterpreted and used as basis for the shoe uppers.
Both the Roll Up lights and the shoes were inspired by the same graphic patterns and all share a modern handcrafted approach to producing.
